How we can work together
-
Therapy
Individual therapy for adults and young people. Support with anxiety, emotional overwhelm, masking, exploring autism or ADHD, a late diagnosis, and the steady weight of everyday demands.
About therapy -
Assessments
Autism, ADHD and learning assessments that look at how you think, learn and experience the world, including your strengths as well as the things you find hard.
About assessments -
Parent support
Consultations for parents and caregivers, and the option to be involved in the care of someone you support, when they agree.
About parent support
Meet Jaie
A warm, collaborative relationship comes first
I’m Jaie, a psychologist and parent. I take time to understand your experiences, strengths and needs, and the wider context of your life, before we decide together where to focus.
Therapy here is shaped around you rather than a set formula, and it moves at a pace that suits you.
Approach
What a neuroaffirming approach looks like in practice
Neuroaffirming care treats the way you think, communicate and process the world as part of who you are, not something to be corrected. In practice, that means:
-
Working it out together
We agree on what to focus on, and you’re always welcome to say what is and isn’t working.
-
Flexibility in how we meet
Telehealth, outreach or (soon) in clinic. Sessions can also be adapted, with more or less structure, written or visual supports, or breaks when you need them.
-
Your circumstances count
Sensory needs, energy, work, study, caring responsibilities and cost are part of the conversation from the start.
-
The whole person
Your strengths, interests and values matter as much as what feels hard right now.

FAQs
Common questions
Do I need a referral?
Not to book privately. You’re welcome to contact JD Therapy directly. Bulk-billed appointments need an appropriate Medicare referral.
Do I need a diagnosis to see you?
No. You’re welcome whether you have a diagnosis, are wondering about one, or would rather not focus on labels at all.
Can I have sessions by telehealth?
Yes. Telehealth appointments are available Australia-wide. We’ll discuss whether telehealth is appropriate for your needs before getting started.
My NDIS plan is NDIA-managed. Can I still book?
JD Therapy’s current NDIS intake is for self-managed and plan-managed psychology services. Please get in touch if you’d like to talk through other options.
